Every gift we receive – big or small – makes a life-changing difference by enabling people to engage with God in the Bible. However, a donation from a philanthropic individual or charitable trust can have a significant impact with the potential to transform whole communities through God’s Word.

While a gift of £5 can give one person the joy of reading their own Bible, a gift of £5,000 or £10,000 could help complete a new translation of the Bible and share God’s Word with an entire nation. Today, there are still more than 3,700 languages with no Scriptures and more than 200,000,000 people around the world who don’t have even a single book of the Bible in their own language. There are a number of translations nearing completion in 2019 which your support could help accomplish.

As a founder member of the United Bible Societies, we work together with more than 140 Bible Societies to make Scriptures available and accessible in 200 countries worldwide. Projects are run by staff from local Bible Societies who understand how to meet the great need and desire for Bibles in their community, so you can feel confident in how your gift is used.

Here in Scotland, we are also committed to improving Biblical knowledge and understanding through meaningful engagement with the Bible. Our National Ministries department is dedicated to developing high-quality projects which contribute to the growth of people’s relationship with God across Scotland.

What we can offer you

Over 1 million Bibles were recently distributed in Cuba

Whether you would like to support a specific project in Scotland or overseas, or provide the Bible where there is most need, we will work closely with you to understand the areas that you are passionate about. We can direct your gift to projects which align with your personal interests, or the charitable aims and objectives of your trust, ensuring you are involved every step of the way.

You will receive relevant updates and communications, tailored in line with your wishes, so you can see the life-changing result of your gift as people encounter God in the Bible. Overseas project staff are occasionally able to visit Scotland and we will invite you to these unique opportunities to hear first-hand about the impact of your support and prayers. It may also be possible to arrange special visits to see projects in action and meet the people receiving their own copy of God’s Word through your philanthropy.

As the demand for Bibles grows, we welcome the opportunity to work with new partners who share our passion for putting the Bible into people’s hands and hearts. We aim to build long-term relationships with individuals and trusts, to enable generations of families and communities to benefit from the Bible’s wisdom, guidance and revelation.
