Volunteer Roles

This summer the Scottish Bible Society will be recording a dramatized audio version of the Gaelic New Testament. We hope this version will make the Gaelic Bible more accessible to people of all ages, recorded for the community, by the community.

However, for the project to be truly successful we need an army of volunteers!

Below are ways you can be involved:

  • Readers/actors – Confident Gaelic speakers who can read a portion of the Biblical text. The time commitment for this varies from a few hours to several days for the larger parts/narration.
  • Proof listeners – confident Gaelic readers and speakers, working in half day sessions. Two proof “listeners” are needed every day to go back over the recording to make sure the language and pronunciation is correct.
  • Hospitality -we are in need of accommodation for the recording team in the Edinburgh area through the month of July. A double room with access to a kitchen would be ideal.

If you can help with any of the above roles, please contact Adrian Armstrong.

Prayer

A project of this size requires many people and complex planning. We would be grateful for prayer support as we bring this all together and then again through July and August while recordings are being held.

We are also looking for someone to join the team as Summer Staff as a Project Assistant.
